Hi All!
I hope you had a great weekend and are ready to get back to the daily grind. One thing living in Alaska has created in our family is a bunch of fishing monsters. Guaranteed today it's sunny and I will have 3 kids begging to go fishing. On Saturday we spent the entire day fishing, caught a pretty big one and lots of little ones we let go. Then we had the adventurous idea to hike up Kowee Creek and fish way back in there.
I kid you not, I would bet money that in mosquito language, when we walked in the woods dinner bells started alarming and mosqitos started screaming "TIME TO EAT!" We got so bit up, when we finally reached where we wanted to fish none of us was really in the mood, so back we trekked to the bridge where we caught one more fish before we called it quits. Then we headed home to bath in After Bite.
The mosquitoes here are awful, I never thought mosquitoes could get worse than the ones back in Wyoming but I was very wrong, Alaska mosquitoes are 10 times worse....and bigger too. As my husband nicely put it, "I don't think I have any more blood for the mosquitoes to take."
Here are some more pictures of various things from the weekend. I am not fishing this year, so I take pictures and keep the fire going for smores. Even though we live and work here I am not considered a resident until I have lived here for a full year, and I refuse to spend 150 dollars on a fishing license so I'm patiently waiting until the first of the year....then I'll get a license, until that time you will have to put up with my artsy fartsy photography:)
Reuben thinks I make a good bench :)
Until next time!
