So I survived all the running part! Now I just need to survive P90X Yoga and Ab ripper. The ab ripper isn't that bad, I can do that, it hurts but it's do able. But the Yoga, now that is a totally different matter all together.
You should first know, I LOVE yoga, love it. It's relaxing yet a good work out, if all I ever did for a work out was yoga everyday I would be just fine with that. But that will have to wait until after I finish a marathon. I'm not ready to give up yoga completely though for the next 5 months so I will work it in for the cross training.
Back to P90X Yoga. It's brutal, it's painful, it's not relaxing, that dudes voice is not soothing, actually his voice is quite annoying. They don't play nice soundscape music and they don't warm you up properly, they just jump right into the hard parts. Just saying. Even with all that negative I think the positive's still come out on top so I'll do it. And then I'll end it with the 15 minutes of Ab Ripper. That one really works your core like nothing else I've ever done.
Here are the stats:
Sunday-3 miles about a 10. 4 minutes per mile pace
Monday- 3.2 miles 9.5 minutes per mile pace
Tuesday- 4 miles our pace came out at 10.04 but we were on ice for the first few minutes and had to go really slow so that's not quite accurate.
Wednesday- Over 3 miles just around or under 10 minute miles
Thursday- Just under 4 miles under a 10 minute mile
Friday- Rest Day
Saturday- 6.1 miles at 9 minutes and 52 seconds per mile. We have been having to run on ice, seriously it's like trying to run up hill on an ice skating rink, our pace is effected by that.
Sunday- P90X Yoga and Ab Ripper
Weeks total- About 23 miles running for the week averaging about a 10 minute mile (I will get that pace down to around 8-9 minute miles by race day)
So for the weekend, we went out to Sunshine cove. It was a fun little jaunt and everyone seemed happy to get out of the house.
Until next time!
