Running Solo But Off To A Good Start
Hi everyone!
Yesterday was a rest day, that means today was my first run since our 7 miles on Saturday. Rusty is out of town on business so I'm having to run solo...again. Reuben and I have worked out an agreement, he doesn't drag me I and give him treats at the end of the run. It seems to be working so far...
We are still friends so that's all that really matters.
*Drum roll please*
Today's times go a little something like this....
3 miles in 24 MINUTES! Finally, I got down to that 8 min per mile pace. However I'm pretty sure I will not have that pace this weekend when I'm running with Rusty for the 7 miles. Here is something you should know about me.... I have a HUGE imagination, massive really and if left to do it's own thing it WILL go wild. When running through the woods solo it gets a little out of hand to be quite honest.
Reuben does a good job of taking care of me out there, he's what you would call a leaner when we run. He leans into me (which causes me to trip often) and scans the horizon and also constantly looks back behind us, like he hears something coming. When he does this my imagination starts thinking of bears, wolves and some crazy pants drug addict that thinks I have money on me. So part of my pace is due to the fact that I'm on a mission to get in and out of those woods and back to the safety of my car as quick as possible. Don't judge me, I told you my imagination was huge:)
The ice is still brutal and there is way too much of it out there. My knee is doing much better. I'm not sure if that is from glucosamine or it getting stronger or a little bit of both. Either way it's not giving me fits like it was just 3 weeks ago. Who knows, this reformed sprinter just might be able to complete a marathon with an average pace in the 8 minute mark.
Hope you are having a great week!
~Angie~
