Surviving Solo Week
Hi Everyone!
Can I just say, Thank Goodness It's Friday? Rusty has been out of town since last Sunday and WHEW! Am I glad he is coming home today. Our crew rallied together today and got off to a great start all because of two things...
1. Dad is coming home and everyone is so excited to have him back.
2. After today starts spring break and Grandma is coming to town:)
Honestly this week was pretty enjoyable. We had a routine and stuck to it like white on rice. The only time we had an issue was yesterday morning when someone who shall remain nameless, in between the age of 5 and 7 didn't want to go to school because it was "BOR-WING." This nameless person drug their feet all the way to the car but perked up half way to school and did just fine, no dragging by the backpack was required which always makes my day a little better:)
For the running portion of my week. You know how the first day went, 3 miles 24 minutes. The second day was Wednesday and was 4 miles with an 8 min. 25 sec per mile pace. Then yesterday...where do I even begin?
So yesterday I woke up and my body was begging "Please don't make me run." It's not that I was sore, it's not that I didn't feel well, I felt fine actually, I just plum didn't want to move that fast in that cold of weather. So my body is begging "Please don't make me run" and my mind is say "Oh you're going to run, and you're going to run it in an 8 minute pace"
Does anyone else ever have these battles with themselves? Where your body just doesn't want to move and your mind is saying "SUCK IT UP!" In case you were wondering or had any misconceptions about me, I'm not one of those people that gets up and is all peppy to go work out. I do it...sometimes begrudgingly, because I love the feeling of being refreshed afterwards and the thought that I just burned enough calories to really enjoy a nice glass of wine tonight, heck that was a tough workout throw in some chocolates with that wine please:)
So with this battle between mind and body where are the stats at you ask? Who won, body or mind? *Drum Roll Please*
3 miles in 24 minutes- My mind won, I have a very strong stubborn streak in me...just ask my father-in-law he will concur. Today is a rest day, another perfectly good reason for a TGIF. I've run poor Reuben into the ground this week. Yesterday I was taking some pics of him and his face clearly said, "Don't touch me" See for yourself...
But with a little coaxing (peanut butter) he came around and we are friends again.
Have a great weekend everyone!
~Angie~
