This weekend was actually kind of hot here in Juneau. I swear all the kids thought they were melting. We had to keep telling them to remember that this is what summer is like in Coeur D'Alene. How quickly they forget :)
How they can stand that cold of water is beyond me. But we were not alone at the glacier pools. So many locals had the same idea :)
The kids slowly warmed up to the water and the fun began.
Both Rusty and I do not take for granted the very cool experiences our kids have had here in Juneau. This probably tops the list of cool and unique things to do. We know that we will not be in Juneau forever. We knew that moving up but we also knew that while we are here we will love every minute, be thankful for every moment and make the most out of our time. We did just that this weekend.
On Sunday morning, Rusty and I got up and ran 18.22 miles on Douglas. It was actually a better run than the 17 we did last weekend. It was still gorgeous out when we got home so we cleaned up and packed up our bikes, lunch and some sand toys and biked out to Boyscout Beach. White sands, the low tide, and sunshine made for a few hours of more fun in the sun. We came home completely tired and happy. A breeze kicked up late afternoon and our sunshine was gone and the rain came in.
It's been windy and rainy all morning here. I might have to head to the craft store and pick up more oven clay for the kids to create with. The weather man is calling for rain the next 10 days and my art box is running low.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
