A Peculiar Playmate

Hi everyone!

I hope your weekend was as gorgeous as ours was :)  The weather finally decided to brighten up...seriously, it's been rather dreary around here lately.  May was rain, rain and more rain.   Our weekend was full of baseball/softball, a 15 mile run that started at 5 in the morning, end of school year parties and finally last night after more baseball and softball, fishing out the road.  The sea lions were barking, the whales were passing through, the tides were really low so the tide pools had a lot to offer, however, there were not many fish out there.  No worries, there will be more fishing on the calendar later this summer.

Today is beautiful.  Breckon headed off to camp for the week. It's her fist time to do something like this. I'm more nervous than she is.  I was squeezing her goodbye and she actually told me to let go because she needed to get on the bus.  Gee thanks Brecks ;)  Around noon we had a peculiar playmate show up at the house.  This mate was colorful and vibrant...just a pleasure to be around.  Only, it didn't like one of our crew members.  Reuben was not on this playmates good list. In fact he got screamed at.  And poor Reuben was put on the porch in time out to give the colorful playmate some space.

Sometimes I feel like I live in a zoo.  On Friday it was National Doughnut Day and it happened to fall on our traditional First Day of Summer Break Homemade Doughnut Breakfast.  I hate the smell of fried food so I opened the windows.  Shortly after, while I was walking by the dining room, there in my yard was a mama bear and two tiny babies.  She scared me, I scared here, there was not enough time to grab a camera and call the kids over to see before she ran into the woods. So no pics of her and her babies...yet :)

I'm still putting together all the pics from our very wet camping trip. I'll post them when they are done.

Until then!
Angie
