Trail Cam Update

Hey Everyone!

So as you know...if you read the post from Monday, we had a wolf in the back yard.  So on Tuesday as I was opening up the blinds in the morning I noticed that the new "bear resistant" trash can was knocked over almost falling into the creek and wide open.  Hmmm.....what would do that to a trash can in Juneau, Alaska?  One word, one thing...bear.  So the boys and I (because Breckon was too scared from the wolf the day before to set foot outside) began to clean it all up.

First thing I noticed when I stepped outside was the extremely musky scent outside, I know that smell, it can only mean one thing. A bear.  So I went back inside and grabbed the bear spray because I'm not about to confront a bear without it.  So the boys and I started the clean up duty.  Seriously folks, it looked like a friggen crime scene.  The bear or bears dragged bags out behind the shed and sat on the grass and ate. You could see the huge bent grass spots that showed where they had sat down.

We got it all cleaned up pretty quickly. Rusty ran and got the trail cam today and guess what we found...with a date stamp on the day that the incident happened.

Haha!  Just kidding that is not the correct date stamp. But these two are...

That stinker.  Oh well, I'm sure there will be many more times that guy comes around and causes trouble.  But I do think he is super cute on camera.  I just can't help it.

And here is one more picture, of Rusty having to pick up some trash that the bear above drug into the woods.  Seriously he left a trail into the woods :)   Well I'm off to put he card back into the trail cam to see if we can capture anymore wildlife moments.

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
